open sauce show intros

Animated intros for three Sauce+ shows, made in Blender on absurd timelines. Each one was me alone: modeling, texturing, animating, and picking the music and cutting it to fit.

concept

Open Sauce and Sauce+ are built around makers, so the intros are too. The core style across all three is visible materials: a tabletop diorama, a claymation set, cut-up pieces of public domain art. Each one had to look like something built by hand, even though all three were made in Blender.

process

Scare the Coyote

Made in a few days, and built to look like a tabletop diorama. In particular, I enjoyed tweaking the lighting of the string lights in the campfire scene to get the glow I wanted, even as the scene rotates quickly past the camera.

The Road Trip Show

Made in 24 hours as a claymation scene, pulling from events and moments in the show itself.

Two Headed Chef

Cut-up pieces of public domain art, animated digitally. Finding art that would style together was its own search, and so were music that fit and planning the beats of the story. This one started as sketches before any animation, and its pacing and art style are what I am proudest of across the three.
